September after spending the summer in Europe, has started spicing up its set list of classics and Death Magnetic tracks with obscure cover songs (Saxon’s “Motorcycle Man”) and its own rarities (1984’s “Trapped Under Ice”). Along the way, the group is feeling more positive than ever. “There’s just this giant circle of love, as we call it,” says Ulrich. “Energy into the fans and energy back from the fans, and it just keeps going.”
